Heather Tazza x Ace Hotel New York
Tazza is a maximalist collage artist whose work expands into full-scale installations, blending fashion, humor, spirituality, and cultural commentary into immersive worlds.
Her debut New York exhibition, Contents May Vary (Ace Hotel, 2025), introduced the Collective Consciousness performance collage, a living artwork built with the public and completed by Tazza herself. The Collective Consciousness is now permanently installed in the Ace Hotel New York lobby, continuing to evolve as part of the space’s cultural landscape.
Select works from the exhibition are also on view at Carlton Fine Arts—installed beside Warhol and Dalí on Madison & 5th Avenue, marking Tazza’s arrival among the icons who shaped contemporary culture.

“My mission is to remind artists, especially women, that we don’t wait for permission.
We build worlds out of scraps, turn emotion into architecture, and leave evidence of our existence through beauty and rebellion. Collage is healing because it proves that broken pieces can form something whole, magnetic, and new.”
Contents May Vary, curated by Mr. Wattson, debuted at Ace Hotel New York in October 2025.
During the final two weeks, the exhibition expanded into a live performance work: The Collective Consciousness Collage.
Tazza constructed the entire foundation, designing the background, shaping the narrative, and setting the visual language, before opening the piece to the public. Guests, staff, travelers, locals, FIT alumni, and complete strangers were invited to add fragments of their own choosing. Every contribution became part of the performance and part of the world she was building.
After two weeks of participation, Tazza returned to the piece, editing, refining, and completing the collage herself as the final artistic gesture.
The result was a living, evolving work, part installation, part performance, part social sculpture. The transformation was so powerful that Ace Hotel selected the finished piece to become a permanent lobby installation.
If you couldn’t experience it in person, this digital shop brings the exhibition to you, featuring original works and limited edition prints from the show.
